Cumbria Life  September 2018  'Natural and seasonally sourced food producer Ella Cheeseman has opened her first shop in Ulverston.  Ripe is now open in Bolton Place off King Street for Ella's cakes and lunch choices.  Ella specialises in cakes, desserts and savoury dishes which are free of gluten, dairy and refined sugar and are usually suitable for vegans.  Cakes - such as peach frangipane or gooseberry and elderflower - change seasonally and customers will find lunch options such as rice noodle salad with soy, honey and ginger.  Ella who also supplies shops, cafes and delis, said:   "Since the end of last summer I was looking for a kitchen premises. That was really hard to find, so I found a shop that I could put a kitchen in.  The shop's sort of come as a secondary thing but, in fact, has been better received than I ever could have planned."  Ripe is open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
